Pros
Hight degree of stability while pursuing opportunities to experience multiple professional options during the same career is a big plus. Education is highly valued as is professional competence. Travel opportunities can be significant and frequent.
Cons
The frequency of moves can be detrimental to a spouses career goals and objectives. Promotion and progress can be slower for high performers than in the civil sector and especially private industry... there are no 30 something general officers. Entrepreneurialism may or may not be valued, it depends on the local leadership.
