Pros
Nice academic community, the campus is located in a nice part of the city with beautiful weather.
Cons
The university is used to doing all sorts of illegal things; they use a cultural exchange visa to hire foreign faculty, which is illegal in Ecuador. They do that not to pay the social security fee for international hires. They employ local professors without a contract not to pay the social security fee, or they under-declare their salaries. Despite USFQ being a non-profit institution, the president and provost use the university's money in any way they want. They built a mall with the money coming from the tuition, and they make all sorts of misuses with the university funds.
