Pros
-Extremely generous PTO (18 Days to start and can eventually get to 25 Days) -Pay is fairly reasonable for entry level workers -Career Track Program is a great introduction to the business world as they teach you about contracts, policies, commercial risks, etc -Very willing to help you learn more and connect with subject matter experts if you put in the work and advocate for yourself.
Cons
-The brokerage world is very sales heavy and producers (the sales people) are the ones that call all the shots at the company. -It can be a very stressful fast paced environment since the producers and the company are typically only paid after the insurance contract is finalized. -At USI Producers get paid not only by winning the contract, but also keeping it at USI. This can be a good system; however, when the contract departs (either due to a mistake or market forces outside of anyone's control) the Producers can get very upset since this might be a big portion of their income. Since your work is directly tied to their income this can lead to unrealistic expectations and stress put on the account management team. If you do NOT work well in fast paced stressful environments, I would suggest looking elsewhere for work. If you like this type of environment then by all means USI is one of the best in the business.
