Where to begin? I thought this would be my “forever job.” It was my dream to work here. The first few months were pretty good, then leadership had their way and of course this ruined everything. There are SO many layers to leadership at this organization. Your dept leadership can be fantastic and want the same things as you… but the powers that be above that level are just horrible. All about the money, absolutely not about patient care and for sure there is no regard for their employees. I know people - PAs, RNs, MDs, xray techs, therapists - throughout this organization who too are unhappy for very similar reasons. It’s sadly not department specific. They truly believe everyone is replaceable (which to some degree is true … if you want your organization filled with a bunch of brand new graduates). If you can’t make your employees happy, you can’t retain talent and in turn you can’t provide the remarkable care you market. Also, as an educational institute they rarely are able to retain their residents as attendings - most go elsewhere for more money and more respect.
