Pros

The students are engaging and dynamic.

Cons

The owner of the company couldn't even pass the TOEFL, her right hand man has no background in education and easily misinterprets employees standing up for their rights by federal and state law as complaining. Couldn't get out of there fast enough. Teachers get paid by the teaching hour. If you are PT, there is no non-teaching time pay. If you work full-time, 5+classes (which would burn anyone out because of the times of the shifts), there is only 2 hours of non-teaching time. The classes being taught are different- so it would be 3 or 6 different classes. The academic manager does his best, but his hands are tied because of the policies of upper management. Hourly pay is only $18/hr and don't provide any benefits or holiday pay. They will promise you FT and then cut your hours at the 9th hour, right before a new session is scheduled to start- completely unprofessional. They have cameras all over inside, want you to supplement your lesson, but refuse to make any copies, stingy, cheap and stiffing is how I would sum it up.

Pros

Salary was competitive and fair. My direct report supervisor was involved and a pleasure to work with. The curriculum challenged students to improve their English.

Cons

My status went from full-time to part-time several times when enrollment dropped, so the workload each term was not guaranteed.
