Pre-acquisition, Ultra offered a great company culture with a people-centric focus. There were many opportunities for growth and innovation. The company was growing very quickly, which made for many exciting projects and challenging work. It was very easy to stay engaged in your work and get excited about the future of Ultra. No doubt this is what made Ultra appealing to be purchased.
Cons
After being acquired, the culture at Ultra has shifted significantly. The people that made up the success of the company are no longer the focus under new ownership. Important initiatives like DEI, training and development, and employee engagement have gone out the window. Now the company is full of uncertainty, constantly moving targets, and job eliminations. Many teams have been suddenly and significantly reduced, leaving those remaining to do the jobs of multiple people (with less tools/resources to do so). Work-life balance no longer exists.
