Pros
The open-source product is great. Good work-life balance. Pension is good (full time only). Hybrid work policy (work from anywhere is not accurate. There was pressure to come back to the office after Covid).
Cons
Umbraco is the textbook definition of an old boy's club. They seem to think company culture and Fredag bars make up for low pay. The page "How to Build a Strong Company Culture" on their site says the quiet part out loud (see under #salary). They don't write competitive salary on their job ads for a reason. It is hard to feel valued here. They talk a lot about hiring people but don't have a strategy to retain them. Most of the benefits they list are what Danish law gives you (ex. vacation, sick leave, parent leave). No bonuses, no raise for inflation (!) You have to pay into equity. They want you to invest in them, but in my experience they are not investing in you. Their value of "transparency" works in the community, but is a joke internally. No clear guidelines for advancement. DEI is almost non existent. The people who care are expected to do it themselves. I believe the gender pay gap is alive and well here.
