Pros
Job is hands on and you feel like you accomplished something in a successful shift. When you're done for the day you you're done. The next day starts as a clean slate again.
Cons
Work - Life balance is terrible. On the extra-board (where everyone starts out) you have 2 days a month that you are not in call and you Omar's subject to call all hours of the day with a 1 hour notice to be at work. Job is very stressful, and you have managers putting in test situations that make it even more so.
