Pros

The pay was substantial and my team were some of the nicest professionals I've ever worked with.

Cons

Where to start. So many recent reviews really capture the issues but to summarize: The CEO is beyond salvage. He is incredibly smart and has given his best effort to the company but if VGS intends to be successful he needs to go. From berating team members on public slack channels to harassing them in DMs, micromanaging email responses, and just committing to impossibilities on company-wide calls the current CEO is a trainwreck. FUTURE INVESTORS BEWARE! That leads to the next item of the woefully incompetent senior leadership. Three new c-suite hires in almost as many months have led to ZERO progress in executing the company vision. What is the company vision you ask? Shockingly you'll get a different answer depending on who you ask in leadership and this trickles down to the everyday working employees who are trying to survive in a chaotic storm. Imagine each individual in leadership having a completely different agenda and scheming in the shadows like a Game of Thrones episode so they can get their way. Even better when they scheme in broad daylight on PUBLIC slack channels so the entire company to plainly see the dysfunction. It's an impressive feat of incompetence somehow achieved by the entire leadership team, and it's worth saying that is the only thing they are achieving. Perks and benefits must be nice? If you don't live in California best of luck with the medical/dental/vision options, or option rather...Aside from that don't expect parental leave, a wellness stipend, or additional learning opportunities. If you manage not to get fired you might get a promotion though only because the people above you were let go. Did it get covered already that "People Ops" is a complete joke that doesn't care about employee feedback? Seriously, the company right now is in a literal downward spiral and I wouldn't wish that working environment on any professional. The CEO lacks the capability to lead and this insecurity shows in how he is tanking the company. The leadership is too busy pointing fingers at each other to actually take action and fix problems plaguing the company. An absurd salary wasn't even enough to placate how miserable the culture was. If you have any self-respect I would advise staying away from VGS until serious changes happen at the top.

Pros

- Strong company vision for short and long term future - Decisive and experienced leadership team - If you work hard, fail forward, and adapt to the changing payments landscape you will be successful at VGS (in any role). - Autonomous work structure, no overbearing managers - Promote from within mentality, and lots of room to shine for high performers - Performance over politics - Horizontal Career mobility opportunities (EX: not interested in sales anymore, more so account management) - Fight for each other culture, everyone clearly has each others back and will support one another even if outside their job responsibilities - Best in class product trusted by the largest brands - Great benefits across medical, dental, vision, 401K match, etc - Equity for employees

Cons

- High expectations as a lean company - Hybrid near offices recommended. - "get you work done" versus 9 to 5 (could be a con to some people) - Learning curve for both payments and security that will require lean in from the employee to become well-versed.
