Pros
Some fellow engineers were good to work with. Benefits were decent.
Cons
There’s no strategic vision which killed the NSE development portfolio and thus ended up causing over 100 layoffs. Don’t expect much here as far as genuine development. Engineers are expected to provide simple bandaids, cowboy code at best, to a large antiquated code base riddled with issues. It was amazing the code ran for any sustained period without a huge memory leak or segfault. Also, don’t count on the leadership to know what was going on, all the way to the CEO. They only seemed to know how to shovel the “story” so long as they were making perceived profits. The turnover rate of executive staff was nearly constant and several CEO’s later, they still can’t get their act together. It’s no wonder NetScout and other competitors were steamrolling them in the Networking/Cellular markets. It’s too bad too, as I truly thought there was potential in the concepts, but they could never get their act together.
