Pros

Unlimited, flexible PTO Generally nice and empathetic managers and coworkers Above average compensation (55k+ as an Account Coordinator, 65k+ as an Account Executive, 75K+ as an SAE, 80-90k+ as Associate Account Manager, etc.) All remote Good health and vision benefits

Cons

You're strongly expected to work as long as the PT team does (which means 8 pm ET some nights). Most coworkers start at 8:30 am and don't get to log off until 7 pm due to last-minute tasks (3/4 pm) given by senior staff to junior staff members The culture is very top-down. Leadership will not acknowledge market conditions until too late and then isn't very sympathetic during layoffs Maybe 3-5 people in senior ranks/management are BIPOC (including the CEO). Many of the BIPOC staff members leave within 2 years, including most of the former Black and Asian employees

Pros

Strong company culture. Smart, driven, and supportive colleagues. Work from anywhere Brilliant clients with leading edge technology Opportunities to learn new skills all the time

Cons

Not exactly a con, but the company moves at a high speed because our clients are at the very edge of technology and you have to be on your toes and learning all the time.

Pros

Working at VSC was not easy, however, I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. My time working here taught me more about PR and communications than all of college did. I really appreciated the fact that my managers, Maggie Philbin and Rick Liebling, would take the time to really coach me. My mentors were competent, and their hands-on training made me respect them so much. VSC is creative, adaptable, and keeps up with trends. That said, we worked fast to keep up with the newest strategies for promoting our clients. These strategies are invaluable. It was hard work, but the company does its best to maintain good work/life balance with remote work and vacation days.

Cons

Keeping up with the speed of Silicon Valley is difficult if you are not passionate about tech. Like any other industry, there's a lot you need to know about the culture, history, and jargon in order to write about it authoritatively. Our clients, being startup founders, could be inconsistent.
