Pros
Travel is both a fun and interesting industry to work in. The industry focus on technology and customer experience allows for new ideas and innovation. Even at a "bad" company you will get a good feel for what's going right in the industry and meet some good people.
Cons
Pay is 50% below national average for similar jobs, pay is amongst the lowest in both travel and tech arenas and getting a raise is almost unheard of. Management refuses to invest in new staff, yes in a pinch they will hire to fill an empty spot, when absolutely necessary, but not to grow or to promote efficiency, prepare to be overworked and deal with constantly changing goals objectives (sometimes daily). That said the one group they really like to hire is Managers. It seems like we hired new "directors" "executives" or members of the C-Suite weekly. Leadership doesn't want your opinion, rather they prefer you put your head down and remain quiet. They don't listen to feedback or advice,in my experience, even when they ask your thoughts they are just looking for yes men. Your experience means nothing to them and they will go out of their way to discredit you if you don't back up their motives. This leads to the place being very Clique-ey, and full of politics, in fighting, misdirection and manipulation it's not a very happy work place. In general the company misses out on the authenticity, originality and good vibes that's promoted throughout the industry. This place is a case study in squandered potential.
