Pros
Great if you like to travel, enjoy driving and like the challenge of getting between jobs. The people you meet are usually really nice and there’s always somebody to help. The secret to doing the job well is to plan ahead and always have a plan B. I really enjoyed my time there but the hours v income were an issue.
Cons
Be ready to bankroll the company for the first few weeks! You are required to pay in full for all your ‘between jobs’ travel and this can work out at £20+ per day. You will only get 50% of that back. This means you could be looking at laying out as much as £400 in your first month on bus and train fares but you will only get £200 back. As you are self-employed, you can claim tax back on the fares when you do your return. In addition, the hours can be very long so never ever try and work out your hourly rate! Be ready for very early starts and a minimum 12 hour day.
