Pros
Team members at Valley Strong Credit Union have opportunities around every corner if they choose to look for them. Not only does the opportunity exist to partake in amazing benefits just by simply being employed, but there are career advancement opportunities in every department. I have worked at Valley Strong for almost two decades and have found training, education and advancement opportunities in every role I've filled. As an employee that has sought more responsibility and challenging new roles, I have yet to work for a manager that has not given me the chance to go after a new role, a pay increase or the potential to advance in my career.
The culture at Valley Strong is one that encourages employees to enjoy their time at work, focus on doing the right things for the right reasons, remember the impact the credit union can make in people's lives and always strive to continue improving and pushing the envelope. This does require employees to work hard, challenge the status quo and sometimes get out of their comfort zones. As an employee I am happy to do all of these things, because Valley Strong offers amazing benefits and equitable pay for the time and effort I put in at work.
For years I have shared with those around me that I love the people I work with and I love the environment I work in. Not many people can say that and I would encourage those around me to come work for the credit union. They might find themselves still enjoying their job, two decades later.
Cons
As the credit union has continued to grow, there have been times when the technology and day to day procedures have changed quickly. The credit union has equipped employees with the training and education we need to adapt to these changes.
