Pros
On the Corporate level Vapotherm is an exclusive, supportive company. Took care of employees during pandemic. The product is exciting to work on and medical device manufacturing is an important role.
Cons
Opinions or feedback voiced is not welcome in Operations. If you’re looking for a job with low pay, physically demanding work in spots, and to keep your head down and eyes shut… this place is for you. If you are actively interested in bettering the culture and advancing… try somewhere else. Project management is lacking and that creates an environment of constant up and downs. The success from the pandemic was made on the backs of tired, overworked, and underpaid employees. Work schedules change often and it’s rarely a choice. Operations are results driven and the culture reflects that. Management is less concerned with people and more concerned with numbers. Employees are expected to perform outside of their job titles and not approach management about it. Employees that operations management seem “not ready to be a leader” are performing leader roles and not receiving leader pay. These employees are also responsible for the performance evaluations and career development of others while not being ready for the leadership role. There is a gender bias in this department. It is much easier for males to advance in their career than women. Turn over is high right now and there are reasons.
