Pros

The new Executive Leadership Team at Vector has made a huge effort to improve the company and increase morale. About a year ago they promised to evaluate what works and what doesn't in the business. They surveyed the team and have actually listened to what we have to say. As a result, we have seen salary increases to help ease the burden of rising cost of living expenses. We have the option to work from home whenever necessary or even full time. Committees have been formed to help navigate better DE&I practices. There are groups in place to help drive philanthropy, culture and wellness within the company. I am especially pleased with the new extended family leave plan which pays salaries at 100% during leave and has added paternity and adoptive/foster parent benefits. Vector is thriving under the leadership of our new CEO, Jonathan Cherins. He has had to make some tough choices recently, restructuring areas of the company that needed some attention, but he is taking Vector in the right direction. I have found that Jonathan truly cares about the team members and values our input. I have been with Vector for many years and I am confident in the future success that the leadership team will bring.

Cons

While the added benefit of working from home is appreciated, it does take away from the in-office culture we used to have back when it was required to come into the office.

Pros

It's a job and some of the people are great, remote/hybrid work for some employees

Cons

There is literally zero incentive to work hard or even try above the bare minimum. No real career paths or progression, no bonuses, nothing. Individual goals mean nothing and do not connect to larger company goals. Leadership is feckless and has to revisit the same decision constantly or has to make a decision involving way more people than necessary which means the final decision is bloated and difficult to operationalize. The company goals are not clear at all so work priorities constantly shift to whatever leadership has most recently decided, through a committee, is most important. There is basically nothing in terms of company culture. People don't talk to each other about anything. There is no fun in Teams channels. This probably stems from all of the above, that people do not feel at all connected to the company because they know they are not going to get anything out of it. Oh, and the benefits are abysmal.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. We’re sorry this has been your experience, and we take comments like this seriously. Vector is a mission-driven company serving customers in critical industries, including public safety, education, industrial, government, healthcare, and other organizations that rely on our technology to help make people safer, smarter, and better prepared. We are proud of that work and of the team members who support it every day. Vector has implemented many positive changes over the years based directly on team member feedback, and we continue to welcome input across all areas of the business. We recognize that benefits, career growth, priorities, and culture can be experienced differently by different people. We do offer a comprehensive benefits program that includes health coverage, 401k support, flexible paid time off, wellness programs, tuition reimbursement, and other resources; Growth Pathways to help team members understand career progression; and companywide initiatives such as Team Member Appreciation Week, Vector Volunteer Week, holiday events, and special commemorations to help build connection and culture. We also understand the concern around shifting priorities. Like many companies, Vector operates in an ever-changing economic landscape. As market needs evolve, we have to evaluate and adjust priorities to keep the business growing, serve our customers well, and support the team members who drive our success. We will not dismiss feedback simply because it is difficult to read. We have meaningful work, a strong team, and a lot to be proud of, but we also have work to do. We appreciate your perspective and will continue working to make Vector a better place to build a career.
