Pros
Engineering teams are amongst the best I've worked with.
Cons
- terribly permissive with harassing behavior: some people are notoriously known for their toxic behavior (I'm talking about calling them "stupid" in a call with more than 10 people, yelling and so on), yet their managers hide their head in the sand and do NOTHING. - some groups overcommit without any due diligence: scoping work, estimating effort, checking their dependencies and so on, and they fall short of their promises they blame others - toxic bosses: little to zero people skills, emotional empathy or emotional intelligence. Manager have told employees they were going to be fired after losing close families and before getting married. Borderline psychopath. - managers pushing BS features without clear indication that feature was needed, lack of roadmap ownership and directors throwing their direct reports under the bus when VPs challenged the roadmap the directors had pushed. - the hiring process is a joke: 6+ interviews to "make sure they hire the right attitude" because "they hire for the long term" and when they realize you aren't a sycophant they'll let you go.
