Pros
There are some great things about working at Verdantix. You get a lot of freedom in research; you can build some great skills at presenting, client management, etc; and you get a sense of responsibility. If you are efficient with your time and / or knowledgeable about the market, you can have a decent work life balance. Your colleagues will be great and you will likely be shielded from toxicity from above
Cons
What are some of the negatives? Well, Verdantix tried its best to scale as fast as possible over the last two years. The problem is that it is a market research firm - and therefore the firm does as well as the markets it covers. So there has been a lot of hiring and scaling / enthusiasim - but the product hasn't really changed or innovated. The research is about the same quality as it has ever been, and the work is the exact same. but your bonus is based on company performance, which hasnt improved - so you are essentially earning less money due to some poor strategic decisions; and these are out of your control. If you stay for a reasonable period of time, you will be repeating reports - hardly thrilling stuff. You will be doing the same advisory projects over and over again for similar clients. There is now an emphasis on speed over quality. While the reports remain good due to dedicated employees, there is no incentive to do good work anymore. you get rewarded for pumping out reports, so how long will the quality remain? The business doesn't reward staying for over a year or so. Even with promotions you do exactly the same work; it is very much an up or out model. Furthermore, due to the split advisory / research function you essentially have management fighting over your time - 'she needs to do more hours on research' - 'she needs to do more hours on advisory'. This is a seriously strange system and again prioritizes pushing out work fast.
