Pros
* Big tough problems to solve that touch on every aspect of research and healthcare * Unafraid to partner deeply with other organizations to create change * Very smart & driven people * Flat org -- lots of opportunity to work with executive team * Andy Conrad is all-in trying to fix a broken system that impacts the lives of everyone. It's not easy, linear, or for the faint of heart and Andy doesn't spend much time sugar-coating the challenges.
Cons
* Big tough problems to solve that touch on every aspect of research and healthcare * Trappings of a big comfortable company (Google) combined with a startup's need to build multiple transformative businesses make it difficult for some to focus * Hiring process can feel tuned for a 100K company and not a startup * Some people joined Verily thinking they were joining Google * Easy to work around the clock -- you need to set limits
