Pros
Scope for learning and growth is great especially off your peers. It was the best place I've worked at and it's because of the people. Some of the smartest and most innovative people I've come across.
Cons
Used to be great but no longer the case. Sadly in recent years with high turnover of the management level bad decisions have been made. Culture and morale have declined as a result and lots of good people have left along with all the knowledge and creativity. These days, day by day is mundane as running under more dictatorship style with little room for innovation or creativity. People are afraid to speak up due to the "my way or the high way" management style which have seen a few groups being let go for that reason. Sad that some of our best people aren't appreciated and are being striked off. These people have been with the company a very long time and have many years of knoeledge that nobody else know. Decisions being made by higher level that do not know their people well and what they do. No effort being made to try to understand your people either. Such loss. HR is also new and doesn't do anything about it or just turn a blind eye. Career progression is difficult i.e. Nil for your standard dev that performs but doesn't want to go into management.
