There are truly so many things wrong with this company that I'm not even sure where to begin. First off, there are many, many, many overworked individuals with little or no guidance. This is related to the limited head count that exists and the fact that priorities seem to change on a daily basis due. This is due to the constant, numerous "escalations" submitted (this company obviously doesn't realize that this word has a negative connotation) or "who has the most pull in the company" and screams the loudest. I've actually witnessed individuals in Upper Management blow their top in a meeting towards attendees because they didn't agree with the attendee's opinion or there was a chance the manager wouldn't receive something they requested by a certain date. There's no need to be a passive, aggressive tyrant so take your meds or take up Yoga. There is just complete dysfunction, friction, and backstabbing throughout this entire company, from the top down. There's no organization or consistent processes being utilized. Just total chaos on a daily basis that makes your mind numb by Wednesday (sometimes Tuesday) of every week. You're not allowed to work from home, ever. You're expected to work many hours and weekends, especially if you're in IT. My advice, stay very, very far away from this company. I realize that they may dangle a very enticing carrot in front of you but I promise that it's not worth it and you'll be miserable here. I expect a defensive response to this posting from a member of Verizon Telematics management because this company cannot even get people to apply for the constant, open positions that are posted everywhere. Guess the word is out...this place is Hell.
