Pros

If you want to practice English, you have the opportunity to practice with more people around the world; the vast majority are wonderful and very kind.

Cons

In the interview, they ask for specific experience and samples of your work, which leads you to believe you have the necessary skills to take on the role. However, after two months, they start increasing your workload. In my case, whenever I made a mistake, they constantly pointed out that I lacked the required seniority. I had no peer or colleague in my field to guide me, and there was no design, recording, or editing team — the specialist is expected to handle editing, recording, designing, writing, uploading content, creating content calendars, and conducting workshops, all alone, with a very high volume of publications. In addition, you must translate and upload social media content without any paid tools. There are no established processes, but if something goes wrong, it becomes your sole responsibility. They keep adding more responsibilities, and if you ever experience a personal issue or an emergency at home, after just days you are expected to perform as if nothing happened. They implement a performance improvement plan in less than three months, and if you do not meet the expectations, they terminate your contract without just cause. It’s unfortunate because there are great people in other departments, but within the marketing team, the environment is highly competitive, demanding, and lacks true teamwork. If you feel sick or unwell, or if you have a family issue, you are not allowed to work from home under any circumstances; there is absolutely no flexibility regarding this. Ability to position your ideas to leadership and have your voice heard.

Cons

The industry is growing at a torrid pace and urgency is key - this means that customer expectations for responses are immediate and with a large company, sometimes it can take a while to get the correct answer.

Pros

The people on my team and the teams we worked with are talented, smart, and collaborative. Probably the best team I’ve ever worked on, and both of the managers I had were wonderful! Generous benefits. Nice environment.

Cons

Upper management, VP and C-suite level treat employees, especially IT infrastructure and support employees, like lower-class citizens. The demand to do more, faster, and better is constant, and everyone is burnt out and demoralized. It keeps getting worse. There are more and more projects getting piled on IT every day, but they don’t hire the people who are needed. You feel overwhelmed constantly and there is always a new urgent thing. It’s very draining.
