Pros

I worked with the company for 9 years. Only took one year off from the job for personal reasons. There are a lot of pros: great people, great environment, great location. The office is beautifully set up. While the owner works inside and out of the office, he is always willing to listen to whatever issue one might have and works with you to fix and improve things that need improvement. There is a LOT of attention and support for sales people to accomplish their task and grow their territories substantially, and now we are finally moving to a great more automated system that is making office life easier and helps support sales reps more efficiently than ever.

Cons

This is a highly state regulated business, we do business in over 10 states and the amount of deadlines the office is put through is atrocious. It creates a lot of pressure on employees who thought they could multitask but had really no idea what true multitasking is.

Pros

Small office provides hands-on, real world skill building opportunities. You work hard but can take what you learn with you for your entire career. Owner has high expectations. Lots of fun events and you learn a lot about wine. If you pay attention you will learn Italian and German. You get to meet the visiting wine makers from Italy and Austria who are fantastic.

Cons

Small office environment often requires all-hands on deck. The different languages and European culture might not be for everyone.

Pros

Honestly the setup of the office is cute and the occasional free takeaways (an already-opened bottle of wine) can be nice, but not much more.

Cons

Where to begin? For one thing, the pay is ridiculous compared to the amount of work you're expected to do, which also includes menial tasks like picking the correct plate for an employer to eat their lunch on. God forbid it's wrong, or they'll send you to the kitchen several more times to get one that's just right in a very Goldilocks-esque fashion (without the charm or being an adorable little girl). Another member of the office takes ample time off, leaves early, and rarely bothers to tell you what a great job you've done or thank you for the extra effort you put in. In fact, they spends most of her time belittling you and competing with you, so be careful not to outshine her or you'll get a "performance review" after several months of working their vilifying you, the employee, and unjustly searing a black-mark on your record. Also, with regards to a promise of "European culture," you get a fair amount of that, if said culture includes copious amounts of swearing, pettiness, nastiness, and overall plain rudeness. In other words, if you like to be berated and overworked on a regular basis all for a whopping salary of $23,000 after taxes, this place is the career choice for you!
