Pros
-I felt my creativity and contribution to the team was valued by both the employees and management. If I suggested something and I could back it up with articulate and supported reasoning it would be implemented/considered. -Management hires based on core strengths, values, and potential. As a result, the team from my experience was extremely strong, agile, and good at their roles. -Management was always willing to give mentor-ship even beyond the role hired for. If I ever wanted to learn about startups, tech, or anything related to the business world the CEO would be thrilled to share knowledge and experiences. Typically, it was really valuable information as well. -Although the company always had access to the fun "startup" amenities, they kept things very professional and balanced. -Diversity and equality were valued immensely. -Commission potential was very high.
Cons
-low base pay for an industry that takes a while for commissions to be actualized. -no equity -you have to take ownership of your job (if you can't do that you will hate this or any startup really) -long work hours are expected, you need to be willing to stay late/come in early when necessary.
