Pros

There are a few and by a few I mean minimal pros to this job. Decent benefits package for assistants and store managers. Decent employee discount and semi flexible schedule. Generally good quality product.

Cons

Since the Carlyle group bought NBTY it has simply become a job of the bottom line and numbers, everything is based on margin. Constantly talked down to and threatened job security. Upper management is clueless and doesn't know the first thing about vitamins at all yet they are the ones telling you how to sell. The company is not competitive at all. No money in advertising and they wonder why GNC and Vitamin Shoppe is blowing them out of the water. Commissions were cut and you gotta sell more to make the same amount of money. The company is losing money, customers, and some great employees due to lack of money being put into the company. Its always more work and if you're not where you're supposed to be you need more "training". The secret shopper program and the vitamin world commitment is a complete joke and yet job performance and advancement is based on that. Constant out of stock products that the company itself manufactures Terrible wages for the amount of bs you have to put up with.
