Pros

Some strong individual contributors who keep things running despite leadership. You quickly learn how damaging bad leadership can be to an organization. Teaches resilience (mostly because you’ll need a lot of it)

Cons

The CEO has no clear vision or conviction. Strategy changes based on the latest idea, not long-term thinking. The CEO is all bark and no action , loud speeches, bold claims, and absolutely no execution. There is a constant gap between what the CEO says and what actually happens. Promises are made confidently and then quietly forgotten. Decisions lack depth, follow-through, and accountability. When things fail (often), the blame flows downward. The CEO appears more interested in optics, control, and sounding impressive than actually building a sustainable company. Leadership under the CEO mirrors this behavior: Confused, reactive, and focused on firefighting rather than building. Employee feedback is either ignored or dismissed as negativity. Honest conversations are not welcome. The company culture reflects the CEO’s mindset: ego-driven, inconsistent, and directionless. Attrition is high, morale is low, and leadership seems completely disconnected from why.
