Pros

I joined company, inspired by a vision shared by our former CEO to drive innovation and help startups leverage technology effectively. I brought extensive experience in cloud, DevOps, and data practices and was eager to contribute to the company’s growth. However, the company underwent a significant merger/acquisition in 2022, which profoundly impacted the organizational structure, leadership, and overall work environment. This transition created uncertainty around roles and responsibilities, limiting the time and space needed to establish a clear path for employees. You will hear lot of times "We are big company", but there are lack of policies, learning paths, ethical, skills in their big company employee.

Cons

During/After merging period, I faced several challenges, including: Disrupted Work Environment Post-Merger: The acquisition resulted in rapid changes in leadership and team dynamics, which affected communication, project updates, and decision-making processes. Internal Politics and Power Dynamics: In a small team setting, some individuals gained authority that was sometimes exercised in ways that hindered collaboration and constructive feedback. Professional Boundaries and Privacy Concerns: Work discussions often took place on informal platforms, and privacy was not always respected. Visa-Related Job Constraints: Being on an visa limited my employment flexibility, and this was occasionally used against me in professional interactions. Limited Recognition Despite Contributions: Although I actively supported projects and introduced ideas to improve processes, my input was often overlooked or dismissed. Despite these difficulties, I value the learning experiences and the relationships I built with certain leaders and customers who recognized my efforts and sought to retain my contributions.
