Volpara's mission is extremely important - to save families from cancer. With a current focus on prevention of late stage breast cancer this is a really inspiring purpose to come to work. The people at Volpara are awesome to work with. Talented, passionate and extremely smart - they have the right people to succeed internationally. A recent leadership change has revitalized the company and given clearer focus for our people. There is top-level buy-in to address things that have been long term frustrations for some staff and to empower and challenge them to be bold. The business has recently been right-sized to ensure that it can operate sustainably, which is great to see.
Cons
Being a company that makes medical software means dealing with lots of regulatory requirements. This means that there are additional quality requirements to be met beyond what SaaS companies working in non-regulated industries have to deal with. However on the flip side the regulations are there to protect patients and their data, so while this adds complexity it is justifiable as there are good reasons for it.
