Pros
Working with the full time employees at the data center was a mostly positive experience. I was working at a remote site and it really gave me the opportunities to learn and really helped me further my career.
Cons
Working with the Volt management was a very odd experience. You wouldn't be in contact with the manager very often but the times you were you would start to notice weird things over time. I believe I was given special privileges and treatment compared to my fellow contractors. I would be told personal things about their performance which I had no reason of knowing. I was also given special assignments in the form of "leadership training" that just seemed like I was getting passed on the Volt managers responsibilities. The worst part was the constant lies and half truths from management. In order to make their job easier. The pay among the employees was not equal and they would normally lie to contractors about why. All the lies would cause many teamwork issues and safety issues within the workplace to the point where a former employee was not told the real reason why he was fired which caused an escalation that put the safety of everyone on campus in danger with the cops having to be called. People doing the same work and responsibilities would receive differences in pay more than $4 an hour. I also noticed the pattern that the people receiving less pay where either women or minorities, though I honestly don't believe this is on purpose, it was still something to point out.
