Pros
It's festive at Christmas and nostalgic
Cons
Soul zapping. Superficial customers and managers. Managers never accept any responsibility. They put you alone on a shift and expect you to unpack shipments-and yes everything will need steaming, wait on multiple customers but also treat every single one like the Queen of England (fetch sizes etc), answer phone, monitor shoplifters, confront them even, which is scary, clean, greet, etc. They can't keep up with mannequins. Mannequins will get stripped when clothes go on sale but there's no one to help redress them. Merchandiser not around. So you'll have to do that too-a huge and dangerous task. Takes forever. Customers interrupt and have endless needs. Again every customer is supposed to be greeted and pampered. Each customer almost needs their own associate. You will be on your own. No one really works here long but they won't restructure expectations to meet this reality. You can't even pee. And when things fall behind, they'll say you just need more training. No-you need to clone yourself to reach unrealistic demands. Oh and absolutely no work life balance. Hope you don't mind working all weekend every weekend or constantly begging to make it not so. Exhausting.
