Pros

Management used to be very informed and backed up the engineers.

Cons

The climate has become much more politically motivated. More people are stealing credit or throwing people under the bus.

Pros

There aren't many executives that are better at what they do than Gabe Reisner (the current C.E.O. and president of the firm). As long as he is running the day to day operations of the firm, it will continue to be in good hands. There are some absolutely amazing people who work for WMA. The staff is generally friendly, the management team is solid, and they have some of the smartest executives that you will find in any organization. The laid back approach fits in well for most people in todays world. Financially and in terms of benefits the firm will reward it's employees. They are fair and understand how compensation should work. As a professional, I've learned so much from the firm that I can't begin to say how thankful I am to have worked there. I was mentored by some absolutely amazing human beings and I think there are some amazing opportunities for youngsters who work there.

Cons

The biggest problem with WMA is it's key senior leadership concern. Regardless if they want to admit it to themselves or not, there is a lot of doubt (and rightfully so) surrounding the candidate to replace the current C.E.O. (not someone I would ever work for and would not trust) VERY political environment. The firm is widely divided in half culturally at the top and not very versatile in senior leadership positions. The firm is a bit too old fashioned (but not so much that it's not something they won't address in the future) The firm is not good at being authentic with it's staff. It picks "favorites" and plays favorites. There are many people who stay because it's comfortable, not because the work is rewarding, challenging, or cutting edge.
