Pros
Nothing. The entire system is a scam (very similar to a pyramid scheme) I worked for Waffle House for two and a half years directly out of college. To me, 40k was a lot of money so I took the job (it was forced down my throat by a recruiter (Michael kitella) because that's how the HR dept makes their salary... Number of new hires in x amount of time) HR people at Waffle House are on the "bonus system" just like unit managers (if you don't perform you don't get paid). Btw field hr people for the company can expect to make ~ 37$ yearly. Pathetic salary. Similar to a unit manger though. I hate Waffle House because they pay next to nothing and expect results, yet provide absolutely no resources to achieve expected 29.9% food cost. It's a good job to learn the restaurant industry from the bottom up. That's about it though. If you stay longer than 6 months you are a fool... (I was a fool) because they will lead you on and make you think that 'district manager' is just around the corner (that's a steady $70k a year). Sounds great to a recent college grad! Except what they don't tell you is you don't want the job because (remember the resources from before ? 0) the company provides no resources and expects you to run 3, 24 hour stores all by yourself. No thanks. Not for 70k... I quit Waffle House and worked as a GM for a local quick service restaurant for a few years... Stress=not bad, resources= yeah, had support to give raises and spend money where money needed to be spent, salary= ~$87,000 Lesson Learned: don't work for Waffle House because the company doesn't care about about you and won't invest money to keep you...
