The pay isn’t the best.

Pay is reasonable. As a physics teacher you get lots of money to buy resources. The students are wonderful at Hurricane High, and the staff are wonderful too.

There is a HUGE big brother feel. You have to watch EVERYTHING you write online. I made a single political post criticizing common core and the state came down on me like a ton of bricks. I never have felt so vulnerable in my life. The district was no help because they were required to follow the state's bidding. For a state that "cherishes" small government as much as Utah, you find that there really is a lot of corruption and big government politics in the state.
