Pros
WeWork is truly in a rapid growth stage: there's a lot of really exciting work to be done, and the company's mission and values are truly inspiring. There's workplace flexibility unlike I've ever experienced — opportunities to explore different communities, flex your schedule in order to accommodate working with global teams, a lot of autonomy to focus my efforts on the things that matter most. The workspaces themselves are really beautiful, and that makes me want to come into the office (even if I may not need to!).
Cons
Because of the lack of structure and seeming lack of direction, I sometimes feel like I'm meandering a bit: while I love the flexibility of working where I please, it would be nice to have an assigned desk or space so that I can truly call it my "home base" (and, by extension, start to build a network). Because of how quickly the company is growing and the lack of resources to map where we've been, it's extremely challenging to know where to find the information you need — or even to find the right person who can put you in the right distraction. While there's definitely a lot of energy, the corporate culture does skew young, to the point where it sometimes seems immature. Plus, it's blatantly homogeneous, which can be off-putting to a person of color.
