Pros
You meet some good people, flexible with taking time off, they pay for your licenses, mobility to work in other departments is okay, in downtown LA, office culture can be fun at times. You can be there forever if you want because no one gets in trouble for anything.
Cons
It is with great displeasure to have to write this review, but many people need to know before coming to this company how working for Wedbush Securities is. The company does not pay for your parking. You can pay to park in the building if you wish with a monthly rate over $300. If you want cheaper parking you can find it blocks away. There is no professional/ formal training for how to do the job you are hired for. There is a lot of times where they will say "you should've done this" or "you should be doing that" or "someone should of told you to do it this way". You will be thrown in and expected just to ask questions and make mistakes. They set you up to fail. With poor management and supervisors, you are left trying to keep your head above water with the frustration of doing a job that you do not understand. This is the perfect example of improper expectations to have on your employees. Where is HR in this process or anything of this matter? They have so many people leaving they will hire anyone willing to take the jobs. Since I have been in my department, More than half of the employees quite in just a year. Lunch breaks are not honored the way they should be legally if it is busy. And your supervisor will tell you if they disapprove of you taking a lunch or break because no one else got the opportunity to take a break due to the work load that particular day. The 5th hour rule is not being recognized. The office has not been updated since they probably opened. Office furniture is falling apart or extremely dirty! Everyone seems on edge or ready to get out of there as soon as possible. The leadership has a lack of understanding how to make work flow more streamlined. The computer programs that you work on are outdated. There is no proper handbook or training on how to use these programs. Managers sit back and allow escalated situations to be handled by the department without jumping in to assist. Which is what they are paid to handle! The benefits are so expensive. No bonus.
