Pros
Kind, friendly, supportive, and patient staff and management Fun, niche offerings and theme! Great for people with more "nerdy" or alternative interests Teamwork and collaboration Local vibe; they recognize your humanity Ensured number of staff present was appropriate for customer volume You get out on time Small perks like a bag of coffee beans on occasion, etc. Conduct in-house roasting operations, which smells great! Overall, I was very pleased with working here during the summer, especially because I didn't have a ton of experience as a barista. I made some mistakes at times, and appreciated that they were treated as learning experiences rather than humiliation rituals. I'm grateful that I was able to learn more about coffee-making at such a unique place. If you're trying to grow your barista skills or are already an experienced barista, definitely consider joining this local business!
Cons
Very fast-paced during peak weekend rushes; it is manageable especially since staff work together/communicate, but it's something to be aware of if you struggle in fast-paced environments that simultaneously demand maintaining an upbeat attitude and high level of accuracy. I do think that their rushes are consistent and you'll know when to expect them, more or less; it's something you can get acclimated to.
