Pros

I worked with babies and families, which I loved. I didn't love anything about this company.

Cons

This company does not value employees with experience and is happy to hire new grads because it's all about how much they can line their pockets with. Unfortunately, this affects patient care. It's all about the profit and less about providing quality care for patients. The new grads made a dollar or 2 less than I was and bonuses were cents. I received one market adjustment my entire time at this company. You are overworked and underpaid. Many days, I couldn't take breaks or get lunch because of how busy we were.

Pros

The other people (nurses, doctors, RT, CNAs) that I work with- teamwork has never really been a problem. My coworkers make the job easier and less stressful, even when we are busy. They are currently playing with the idea of self-scheduling, which would be very nice.

Cons

Opportunity for growth is pretty stunted- it's hard to transfer in and out of different units if you don't know someone. Pay raises used to be unheard of until employee engagement surveys started plummeting and turn over was pretty high- now each year you can bet on a "nice" 1-2% raise, no bonuses and yearly increasing cost of benefits. Base pay is WELL BELOW the national average, and that is in the ENTIRE city of Wichita. Also, management turnover is pretty high. In the two and half years I've worked here, we have lost 3 unit managers, an ACNO and the CEO of my campus and the head CEO of the main campus.
