Pros

None that I can see.

Cons

The nonprofit I work for was absorbed by Winrock over a year ago. They failed to support our mission until our Director stepped down. Now it seems they are trying to cover a black eye. We sat in a meeting with the CEO who clearly is not used to staff with opinions. At one point, he says " shush honey" to one of our younger female staff members. Not very professional in my mind and certainly not acceptable behavior from senior management. Lack of communication between management offices.

Pros

Exceptional CEO and CFOO and great staff. While these are trying times in the International Development Sector, Winrock will get through this phase to grow again and help communities around the world.

Cons

Reduction in Donor budgets is impacting all organizations in the sector, so there may be less employment opportunities and tight budgets.

Pros

The benefits are really good, maybe the best around, which keeps US staff in golden handcuffs. Program staff and lower to mid-level ops staff are amazing people trying to do good work in the world.

Cons

Winrock is where passionate, mission-driven people lose their fire for the work and ultimately leave because they just can’t take it anymore. Executive leadership is completely out of touch with the reality of the communities they are supposed to be serving. Everything is about “new business”, not mission or impact. It’s a sad state.
