Pros

• the people there are so talented • catered lunch • opportunities to work with big brands • people grew fast! people who I worked with got promoted to management positions pretty quickly which is pretty hard to do in other companies. • holidays off and had a week off during the summer which was pretty cool.

Cons

• some departments were being stretched thin and had to wear many hats which some couldn't handle the stress but it does happen a lot with big tech/ gaming companies • people were toxic and they spread misinformation which would cause confusion about projects. The office became so overwhelming because people were constantly complaining, bad mouthing and just didn’t have the best moods. People would walk around with bad attitudes when being asked a simple question and it wasn’t upper management. • this company is so public because of the founders and the hate and misinformation spread from people is so wrong. Don’t believe everything sour people say on the internet.

Pros

-Had good benefits -Amazing people to work with

Cons

-Promotions with no support or training. -CEO is not knowledgeable in this field -The rest of CSuit minus the COO have no prior knowledge of Games Development. -They like yes-men, hate honesty -They do not know how to prioritize what to spend their finances on-Multiple lay-offs, one included a mother on maternity leave. The first Layoff also included someone on leave after surgery. -The studio would regularly hire out contractors even when there is someone in house who can do the work. This was the case even when in-house devs are waiting for more tasks. -Often the work done by contractors is not used.-Games have no structured development, and when pivots are made production does not pause to reevaluate how to execute on a change, which creates a cascade of problems for each department and lengthens development time exponentially. -A quote from a member of CSuite, “It’s not a Pivot if you don't write it down”.-In general anything not in writing will not be acknowledged, but also things there were in writing from Execs and Admin have no weight either. -The studio claims to be anti-crunch culture but often programmers were made to stay late or work on holidays and weekends without pay or other forms of compensation. -Games either get no attention from C Suite and have smooth development or get all of the attention from C Suite and become bloated with new features that C Suite requests every day, making the development time and therefore the cost of production balloon. -The studio claims to value Women/Nonbinary members, but it was incredibly common for female/female presenting leads of departments or producers to not receive feedback on their projects from C-Suite. C-Suite would instead give that feedback to a male/male presenting member of the dev team even if they were not in the correct department to receive the feedback - in some cases not even on the project the feedback was for. -The Execs liked to micro-manage people to a horrifying extent, going so far as to spend entire days literally standing over you as you work. -You will NOT have any job security.
