Pros
- Freedom to set your own hours Your work hours are pretty flexible all things considered. I know people on the sales team need to take calls during normal business hours, but other team members are able to schedule regular personal time, 2-hr blocks to go to the gym in the afternoon, things like that. - Fully remote There's literally no office and never was. The company was started remotely and just stayed that way. Leadership does off-sites and the co-founders live in NY, so that's probably considered the HQ. - Good pay Market rate pay with monthly performance based bonuses. We have sales people in the Philippines who have already bought several houses on their salaries. I can't buy a house in the US with this salary, but it is a fair salary nonetheless, and the monthly performance based bonuses are considerable (like 50-100%+ of your monthly salary). - Great benefits Company match 401K, excellent healthcare options. My dental work had a very low deductible and my dentist even commented that I have "very good insurance." PPO and HMO options for healthcare. That's a huge part of why I love working here. Also we get access to a bunch of streaming services for shows and movies. - Smart co-workers It's a startup, so we're all dynamic in what we do, what roles we take on, responsibilities etc. If you want a fast-paced, exciting environment without clear boundaries and hard rules for roles, this is a good place. Also it's nice to work with smart people who don't frustrate you. - Mission driven to help people Everyone at the company is working hard to help clients get jobs, and we celebrate every interview and job offer in a shared Slack channel. We keep getting better at it, improving our systems and approach, and it makes me happy to work for a company that helps job seekers instead of helping companies find employees. - Growth potential If you can generate more revenue than you cost, you can earn more and get a raise. I've also seen several college students and younger workers start here, gain rapid work experience, and leave for a higher paying job at a larger company. Overall I'm happy working here. I saw a previous employee leave a 1-star review and didn't think it was fair, so I wanted to share my experience here to offer another perspective.
Cons
I've worked at many companies, different industries, and this place is great. I'll list some things that might be bad for you depending on your style. - No massive budget We don't have major VC funding, so we don't have the huge budgets that many other startups have, but that can be a positive or a negative depending on how you look at it. - Difficult work A lot of work you do doesn't have a clear instructions manual, because you're making that as you go and testing, iterating, etc. This is not a negative for me, but could be for some. You can definitely find easier jobs with the same pay. - Super fast paced If you are a slow worker, or if it takes you time to get moving, this will be a major challenge. - Difficult clients If someone desperately needs a job, they can be quite impatient, which is fully understandable of course, but it can be difficult to deal with.
