Pros
The sales comp plan was competitive; $140K base and $250K OTE. The pre-sales engineer in the West is a long time employee and very good at the job. The product is niche-y and it's a replacement sale, which can be hard, but it's basically a good product that offers value to IT organizations, especially large SAP shops. The head of engineering and support is a very solid guy, knows the market and the product inside and out and is very customer-centric. Remote offices are common outside Dallas and the work-life balance aspect of the job was quite good. There's no real career opportunities but if you like carrying a bag and if the CEO likes you, you can have a great run here. Lots of opportunity for good sales people IF you can fit into the culture here. That's the real challenge.
Cons
Distinct culture--you have to check it out to know what I mean. Its a very small company with virtually no people of color and women; however, based on the number of staff who are openly gay, the company seems to be pretty gay-friendly. The CEO is VERY hands on, monitors the use of Salesforce, gets involved in details but doesn't meet with execs or customers. Hard to explain...it's a bit of a club. You're either in or you're out.
