Pros
* Flexible schedule * Unlimited earning potential * Practical training that’s applicable to any industry * Helps you build tougher skin * Considerable learning opportunities and team support * Student membership is only $150+tax * Cost of licensing in BC + E&O insurance is $1,015 per year + your office rent. * Commissions are paid by the product provider your client chooses so your clients get the most unbiased and fair-priced solutions for their needs. * Job fulfillment - paying it forward through financial education. * Starting as a self-employed individual means I can write all of those expenses off and more. * Ability to move from self-employed to business owner over time as you build your team/business. * Opportunity to travel together with some or all expenses reimbursed (usually up to a max of $6,000 USD depending on the company contest rules) * Recruiting is NOT mandatory, but you cannot move from self-employed to business owner and therefore limits your earning potential. 100% your choice.
Cons
* Not every team or agent out there cares about helping others reach financial freedom. Choose your team wisely. * Hype culture without proper Trainer(s) will result in susceptible people setting unrealistic goals and expectations * Information can be confusing at first. Go to the conferences and take your own notes to make informed decisions. * Your experience with WFG as an agent or a client will vary depending on the people/team you meet. You might have to spend time with different teams/offices in order to find the right fit. * Not suitable for people who are not coachable or self-starters * Can be daunting if you cannot afford to attend all the events and trips. Takes a while to shift that mindset from “spending” to “investing” into your business/career.
