Prior to 2023 wfs was a good company to be with, there was a focus on building a good culture within the organization and a digital strategy that delivered positives changes and competitive advantage. After the first phase of that strategy was delivered the COO retired and the more progressive members of the senior leadership team in technology left too. This was the beginning of the end, their replacements were internal, the leadership team quickly became a closed inner circle lacking strategy and diversity of thought. Collaboration disappeared amongst engineers. Cost cutting was the only clear strategy, engineering opportunities fell away and everything including personnel was measured against old school arbitrary metrics. Planning between functions was a nightmare and priorities and projects changed constantly. Moral declined very rapidly, micromanaging to crazy levels ensued and the culture became very toxic. There was no progression or satisfaction. "Leadership" routinely ignored feedback hence it would spill out into public forums such as GD. Shame. Feels good to have left though.
