Pros
Finally after many years in retail and hospitality I’ve found a forward thinking company that gives back as much as you put in. I’ve spent over 20 years working in similar environments for a pittance. Being under paid, over worked and under appreciated. Wren is a breath of fresh air. I’m only a few months in now but it’s paying off. Basic salary, great achievable commission structure that is going to net me double my previous highest earnings and may even go higher. My showroom has a fantastic management team who believe in nurture and coasching rather than shouting and piling on pressure and we are all flourishing.
Cons
Only downside is working every Saturday and Sunday but if you are keen to earn these are also the best days to pick up business and convert into sales. If you don’t like working hard then this isn’t for you. There’s a lot of negativity about the work life balance but realistically that’s around the weekends. Most designers in my store work 34-40 hours and manage their workload accordingly to avoid getting stuck behind late.
