      Beware the Bait and Switch - Network Consultant Xerillion Employee Review

      Pros

      I like the co-workers, I like the clients, I like working alone and the pay is pretty good most of the time.

      Cons

      The job posting and interview will rave about the great opportunities at Xerillion. You'll be told you can become an equity partner in the business. You'll be told nothing less than a steady work/life balance is acceptable. Then you start work, sign the paper work, then the reality comes out. You'll be told the "Honeymoon is over." You're thrown into the fire with little training, and are expected to bill a lot of hours daily. If you fail to do so, you'll receive a phone call from the superior who isn't afraid to "get tough" with you. If you need to come in late to take your child to school or if you get sick last minute or have an emergency, you'll be told no, and threatened with your job. You'll find yourself questioning your decision to leave your old job for this one. Employees have been fired and had their unemployment claims contested. The clients have little or no respect for the owner of the business. It's really a place to avoid if you can.

I was sorry to see that this is not working out well for you, that you feel you were thrown into the fire. Sometimes I make judgements on skills and ability that puts a tech in a stressful situation where they could use some extra training. Thank you for that input. It is true that punctuality and reliability are extremely important here, though an occasional sick day or running late are not uncommon and understandable.       Pros

      Working here has been a truly life-changing experience. The company is small and friendly, with a family-like atmosphere that the owners genuinely foster. They are involved, supportive, and treat everyone with respect and care. Everyone works from home, offering an incredible balance of flexibility and trust. Most employees have been with the company long-term, which speaks volumes about the positive work environment. It’s rare to find a workplace that values its employees this much. Highly recommend!

      Honestly, I don’t have any cons to share. This company has exceeded all my expectations.

      Pros

      Xerillion is how small companies used to be 30 to 40 years ago and has been one of the absolute best places that I have ever been a part of. Leadership is honest and fair from the top down. Work life balance is taken seriously here. They have a real interest in the well being of employees and want us all to be happy and productive. Simply said, they are a fair company that actually cares about the workforce. It's a rare rare thing these days!
