Pros
This a great small town privately owned company with minimal red tape and good hard-working honest employees. If you are one of those, this is a great place to build your career. Benefits and pay continue to improve year after year. Paid time off is competitive. Individual supervisors and managers, including executives are fair and reasonable and are willing to listen, change, and admit when they make mistakes. The company paid HRA and local medical provider company (307 Health) are excellent for non-catastrophic medical needs. Profit sharing bonus is generous. The organization is quite flat, so there is good opportunity to speak your mind and be listened to all the way to the top of the company. No big greedy corporate oversight means that positive change can happen fast. Overall a great place to work.
Cons
There is a culture of distrust of employees that needs to change. Individual medical insurance is very affordable, but deductibles are very high. Family medical insurance is very expensive and carries a very high deductible. The expectation to work overtime as a salaried employee can lead to burnout. Annual raises often do not even meet the cost of living increases, which is simply not ok if you want to keep good employees around long-term.
