Pros

Travel opportunities were always present and provided some great experiences on the water.

Cons

This is a conservative (non-political) company set on archaic and antiquated culture. If you left the office at 4:59, it was seen as inappropriate. If you walked in at 8:35, you received verbal warnings. Management would walk in and out of “open door” offices talking about the days news, but too much conversation between lower level associates is seen as being lazy and distracted from work. My team structure was beyond confusing. I reported to a manager for communications who I received few assignments from and had little to no contact at times. I also reported to a senior manager for government relations. This senior manager was condescending not only to me, but other subordinates in the workplace. At one point I received an email from him directing me to a dictionary because I used a word in an incorrect context. The workflow and tasks from both managers was inconsistent. At times I felt like I had little or nothing to do. And if management saw this, instead of a sit down conversation, I was blasted for being lazy.

Pros

Great workplace, great coworkers, and great culture if you’re passionate about the powersports industry. The benefits are good, 401k match is good.

Cons

Pay compensation could be a little better, but this industry is cyclical. When the economy is good, raises and bonuses are easier to obtain. During tough times that affect the industry as a whole, things can get lean, but understandably so.

Pros

My onboarding experience with Yamaha has been excellent. From day one, I have felt that the company has truly invested in my success and taken the time to ensure I have the tools and support needed to perform at a high level. The leadership team has been welcoming, organized, and committed to setting new employees up for long-term success. The floor associates are extremely hardworking and represent some truly outstanding people. There is a strong sense of teamwork and pride in the work being done each day. It is clear that many employees care about doing things the right way and supporting one another. I am proud to be part of such a well-respected brand and look forward to representing Yamaha and contributing to the continued success of the organization.

Cons

None to speak of at this time.
