Pros

Yardi's culture and benefits are fantastic. My colleagues are smart, supportive, and truly collaborative, making the work environment a huge positive. The benefits package is top-tier, with 100% employer-paid medical premiums and profit-sharing that show a genuine commitment to employee well-being.

Cons

The biggest drawback is the compensation model and a recent shift in remote work policy. The uniform salary structure is grossly unfair to employees in high-cost areas like Santa Barbara, where a non-competitive base salary makes it nearly impossible to live comfortably. This feels like a major disparity that the company refuses to address, making many feel undervalued. Furthermore, a recent decision has restricted employee mobility. It is no longer possible to go fully remote or transfer to another office, effectively tying us to our current, expensive locations without a pay adjustment. This rigid policy, combined with a lack of clear career paths or mentorship opportunities, leaves many of us feeling stuck. It's a difficult trade-off: a great team and benefits, but a low salary and limited professional growth. If you're in a low-cost area, this may be a great option, but for those in expensive markets, Yardi's model is a serious challenge.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are pleased to hear that Yardi’s culture, collaborative colleagues, and generous benefits—including employer‑paid medical premiums and profit‑sharing—have made a positive impact. At the same time, we understand your concerns about compensation fairness in high‑cost regions like Santa Barbara and the limitations of a location‑agnostic salary model. Your suggestion to explore tiered geographic pay and develop structured career pathways with mentorship is thoughtful. We appreciate your commitment over the past 5–7 years!

Pros

Time off when you're able to get it.

Cons

If you are a high performer, be prepared to take on the workload of others. The company does not consistently hold underperformers accountable, which often leaves stronger employees constantly cleaning up the gaps. Hard workers tend to get burned out quickly. Work life balance is a significant challenge. It’s common to work through vacations, as you are expected to find coverage for your responsibilities while you’re away and reliable coverage is difficult to secure. This can create added stress both before and during time off. Overall, the environment may be manageable for someone who prefers a slower pace, but overachievers should be aware that their workload will expand without additional support. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Lack of accountability for underperformers, which leaves high performers constantly left to fix their mistakes.
