There is a significant disconnect between executive management and the staffing needs of the laboratory. Those in charge do not fully understand the role the laboratory staff plays. Their primary focus appears to be on acquiring clients, but increased workload and understaffing compromise quality. This suggests that patient care, as well as the well-being and retention of laboratory staff, is not a priority. Instead of offering competitive salaries for knowledgeable staff, they prefer to hire underqualified employees. They are not open to new ideas and, in fact, can be condescending when concerns are raised. This has been the most stressful job I have ever had, leading to significant burnout.
