Pros

The product and features are cool in theory but work horribly. Other similar apps (live.me, live.ly) work better and look way cooler. Some of the employees really care and are good people but just have terrible management to look to. This is really a job to have while you look for another better job elsewhere. In 2014/early 2015 YouNow really had a chance.

Cons

Where do I even start? Management here is just clueless and super secretive. You always feel like you're either being lied to or not told the whole truth. The ceo is bit of a sociopath and has no problem lying to peoples face. You get the feeling at this company that its ultimately about boosting his own ego than creating something great. Employees are constantly asked to do unreasonable things beyond the typical job from working constantly to hiding the truth from broadcasters to attending strange events put together by the ceo. Many people feel left out or just don't want to be included at all. There is NO company culture here. Tons of whiskey and a free lunch on Friday isn't company culture. Office Location in the least cool place in nyc (times square). Good health insurance will cost you...A LOT, and some of the heads of the company left in the last 6 months which is definitely a sign of where this place is going. About 30 people laid off between July and November 2016, which brings them to half the staff they had a year ago. Pay is awful. Stock options are worthless. Competitors are driving this place out of business.
